Counseling clients can expect the following steps when working with a Neighbor to Neighbor mortgage counselor:
Preventing Mortgage Default
In some cases, if eligibility guidelines are met and funds are available, clients may access emergency grant and/or loan funds to prevent foreclosure. Eligibility determination is made only for clients actively participating in mortgage counseling at N2N.
Timing is Everything
The sooner clients seek counseling, the more options they may have to prevent foreclosure. Homeowners who have had changes in income or adjusting mortgage payments are encouraged to meet with one of Neighbor to Neighbor's mortgage counselors before they have missed a payment, or as soon as possible thereafter.
