“We wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for Neighbor to Neighbor’s help.”

How N2N helped Jordan's Family

Before Covid began, I was a stay-at-home mom to my four kids, ranging in age from preschool to high school. At the time, their father was living with us, but it was a very toxic relationship and he was unreliable and unpredictable. I knew I needed to end it, so I told him he needed to leave and I was going back to work. He left, taking my car and leaving me with debt. Then Covid hit and everything fell apart.

There was no way I could get a job at the time, with everything shut down and my kids doing school from home. It was really tough. I was so stressed out, spending my days trying to balance helping the kids with their schoolwork while trying to figure out how we were going to survive. It didn’t take long before I was behind on my rent and our bills. I made phone call after phone call to see what I could do. It got to the point where I was preparing to move into a shelter with my kids, only to find out they didn’t have any space for us either. Then I somehow found Neighbor to Neighbor.

Without Neighbor to Neighbor’s help, we wouldn’t have been able to keep the roof over our heads. Thanks to you, we were able to remain in our same home, which was so helpful since I didn’t want to interrupt my kids’ lives any more than I had to at the time. With your support, we were able to use the time at home to work on our emotional health, and we are all in a better place because of it.

I am so grateful and appreciative for your rental assistance so I could catch up and get our feet back under us. Now, with my kids back in school and life returning to normal, I can get back to work and get caught up on the bills. Finally, everything is so much more peaceful at home. Thank you, all.
