With her background in finance, experience serving on the N2N Board of Directors, and three years of leadership as director of financial services and director of programs, Janese Lesoing brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her new role as Deputy Director. Janese is settling into the new role quickly and took a moment to share a few thoughts about her path and desire to serve.

What first drew you to N2N after starting your career in finance?

Working in finance, I was always looking for ways to connect that work to a greater purpose. Housing has such a profound impact on every aspect of a person’s life – it affects stability, health, education, employment, and opportunity. Through my service on N2N’s board, I saw firsthand the life-changing impact of the organization’s work and the dedication of the team behind it. Joining N2N has allowed me to combine my financial background with my passion for helping people build stronger, more stable futures.

How has your experience leading programs over the past three years shaped the way you think about this new deputy director role?

Leading our programs over the past three years has given me a deep appreciation for the people we serve and the staff who make our mission possible every day. From eviction prevention to supporting successful homeownership, I’ve seen how critical it is for every part of the organization to work together. That experience has reinforced my belief that strong operations, sound financial management, and employee support are not separate from our mission – they are essential to delivering it effectively. As Deputy Director, I look forward to supporting and strengthening those systems so our team can continue making a meaningful impact in the community.

As you begin your work as Deputy Director, what aspect of the role are you most excited to grow into?

I’m excited to take a broader view of the organization. N2N already has a strong foundation, and I look forward to helping maintain and adapt our systems as our organization and community needs continue to evolve. Most of all, I look forward to leveraging my experience in finance, operations, and organizational development to help ensure N2N remains sustainable, effective, and well-positioned to create opportunities for housing stability for years to come.
