We are pleased to introduce Ailsa Tucker, who joined N2N as Philanthropy Manager in July. With nine years in nonprofit fundraising, Ailsa brings passion and strategic insight to building community support.

The silver lining of joining N2N right before our two annual fundraisers is that Ailsa is already meeting so many of our supporters. We asked her a few questions to help you get to know her a little better.

What drew you to N2N and its mission of keeping people safely housed?

I was drawn to Neighbor to Neighbor because of its strong reputation in Larimer County and the measurable impact of its work. The life-changing outcomes of N2N services meet a critical need in our community, and I’m truly honored to be part of such an essential organization.

What have you learned during your first month that surprised you?

Two numbers stood out to me in my first month: our front desk volunteers assist 680 people each month, yet we’re only able to directly assist 25% of those seeking our help. It’s a clear reminder of both the urgent need and the opportunity we have at Neighbor to Neighbor. So many people need stable housing, and yet there’s so much more we can do together.

What excites you most about N2N’s future?

I believe having a place to call home can change the course of someone’s life, and so one of my top priorities that I find most exciting is discovering creative ways to engage more people with Neighbor to Neighbor.

Our team is doing such empowering, high-impact work every day, and with sustainable funding, we can do even more. For example, expanding move-in assistance—like covering rent deposits or moving costs—can provide immediate stability for someone in crisis. It’s a tangible, immediate way to change a life, and I believe many community members who are looking for ways to deepen their impact will be inspired to be part of this solution.

What does “Home” mean to you?

Home is the place that truly makes everything else in life possible. In my early childhood, my mom and I rented rooms in a home. I was fortunate that she was able to work and afford childcare, and I always felt safe and cared for, but I’ve never taken it for granted that I had a home. My early experiences showed me the importance of stable housing, and I believe the families served by Neighbor to Neighbor deserve that same foundation.

What makes northern Colorado feel like home for you?

My daughter was born in Loveland! My family is enjoying every opportunity to experience all that northern Colorado has to offer, and we are spending lots of time exploring toddler-friendly places.

Any final thoughts to share?

I am thrilled about the opportunity to personally connect with our supporters and to share how every gift builds a stronger foundation for families in our community. As I continue to grow my local network, I welcome any ideas and introductions you may have for me.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out – I’d love to hear from you!
